Full video available exclusively on 🤍 A sneak peek from Finneas' 'Inside The Track" series in which he shares some of the vocal production secrets behind Billie Eilish's single "Therefore I Am" We're thrilled to release our first video series with the multiple Grammy-winning artist, songwriter and producer, Finneas O'Connell! This instalment focuses on the creation of 'Therefore I Am' - the 2020 single by his superstar sister, Billie Eilish. Finneas uncovers how he co-wrote the song, recorded Billie's vocals, produced the record and prepared the stems for mixing by Rob Kinelski. With the multi-track production session open in Logic Pro, he revisits the process of programming drum grooves, layering percussion, forming bass lines and creatively mangling samples. He explains his workflow in detail, such as his philosophy of mixing as he produces, capturing impulsive vocal harmonies and creating a rough master for reference. Furthermore, O'Connell reveals his revered vocal chains and elaborates on the duo's unique chemistry and workflow!
Full video available exclusively on 🤍 A sneak peek of Kuk Harrell's 'Inside The Track' series in which he shares his masterful approach to arranging and blending backing vocals. We're thrilled to release our first ever series with the prestigious vocal producer, songwriter, arranger, and engineer Kuk Harrell! Hosted at Sphere Studios in Hollywood, this installment dives deep into the art and science of evoking, capturing, and embellishing a vocal performance. Referencing the multi-track vocal session of 'For You' by Why Don't We, Harrell auditions the demo recording, gives his opinion, then shares how he tracked and produced the material. He takes you through the various parts of the intricate pop vocal, comprising five male leads, octave doubles, harmonies, and ad-libs. He comments on the project from both a musical and technical standpoint – melodies, structure, stacking, tuning, tracking chains, plug-ins, and much more. Aside from teaching the key elements of his workflow, Kuk imparts his wisdom on the social and psychological aspects of coaxing the best possible take out of an artist in the studio.

Today I'm sharing how we set up for vocal editing and processing in FL Studio 12. There are limitless tips, tricks, techniques and methods for vocal processing and it's easy to get lost and end up in a mess. This simple method/system will help you stay organised and on top of your vocal processing, helping you achieve a great vocal sound. I break the system down step by step explaining the channels, routing, side chaining , effects and signal flow. It's a longer video than usual, but I feel the extra time is important so it's not a rush :) I start by showing how to set up the mixer for optimal signal flow and using the "Fruity Send" vst to send audio to your reverbs and delays. I then show some of the effects you could try and how we use them. NOTE - In the video I use the faders to control the volume of the effects, in a mix it would be better to control the volume from the fruity send vst for more control. I simply used the faders to save a lot of time and clicking in the video :) 🌍 My Website / Contact / Hire me - 🤍 📱 Join My Discord - 🤍 🎧 My Sound Banks / Preset Packs - 🤍 💸 Save money on DistroKid if you signup through my custom link - 🤍

When mixing vocals, Marc does not go after super, super compressed vocals, but he does appreciate a vocal that sits really forward in the mix. Getting that forward mix without hyper-compression, though, is kind of tricky. Marc had found that by doing serial compression - multiple in one chain - it does the trick without leaving the vocal sounding hyper compresssed! In betwen these compressor, Marc will do some EQ, some de-essing, and other edits to really bring the vocal forward in the mix and get it sounding exactly the way he wants. Watch the video to see Marc go into detail on how he gets his vocal sound. Included are his custom presets so you can achieve the same setup on your end! ❤️My Favorite Plugins: ➡️Waves MV2: 🤍 ➡️Waves RBass: 🤍 ➡️Renaissance Vox: 🤍 ➡️Renaissance Compressor: 🤍 ➡️Warren Huart IR Pack 🤍 ➡️Warren Huart Kemper Pack 🤍 ❤️GEAR: ➡️Stealth Sonics: 🤍 ➡️UK Sound 1173: 🤍 ➡️Apollo x16: 🤍 ➡️Apollo Twin: 🤍 Join the community here: Facebook Group 🤍 Facebook Page: 🤍 Instagram 🤍 Twitter 🤍 ❤️❤️Free 3 Part Mixing Course: 🤍 Sign up here to get exclusive videos and content 🤍 #ProduceLikeAPro #HomeRecording #MixingVocals Giveaway Winners: 🤍 Produce Like A Pro is a website which features great tips to help the beginning recordist make incredible sounding home recordings on a budget.
➡️➡️Learn more about Vocal Compression here: 🤍 Today, we will be going over the basics of mixing vocals. Earlier, we balanced the mix using just panning and volume and got the mix to a place where we could start making better decisions. In this video, we are going to look at some really subtle ways you can make your vocals sit better in the mix using just compression and automation. In Pro Tools, this automation could be “clip automation”, but it could also be "volume automation" in your DAW. Most people will use compression to color the sound, and to make sure it is always in the front of the mix. There are three ways you can do this: using compression or serial compression, clip gain/volume automation, or using a limiter, which can help bring out the personality in the track as well. Be careful when you are using clip gain or volume automation, as you want to make sure you are not exaggerating things that you will have to edit out later! ❤️My Favorite Plugins: ➡️Waves MV2: 🤍 ➡️Waves RBass: 🤍 ➡️Renaissance Vox: 🤍 ➡️Renaissance Compressor: 🤍 ❤️GEAR: ➡️UK Sound 1173: 🤍 ➡️$299 Kali Audio Studio Monitors: 🤍 ➡️Apollo x16: 🤍 ➡️Apollo Twin: 🤍 ❤️❤️Free 3 Part Mixing Course: 🤍 Sign up here to get exclusive videos and content 🤍 #ProduceLikeAPro #HomeRecording #MixingVocals Giveaway Winners: 🤍 Produce Like A Pro is a website which features great tips to help the beginning recordist make incredible sounding home recordings on a budget.

Authors: Bernhard Richter, Matthias Echternach, Louisa Traser, Michael Burdumy, Claudia Spahn 160 min., DVD-ROM for PC/Mac Languages: German/English You can purchase this DVD here: 🤍 Informations about the DVD: Which singer would not like to see exactly what is happening in his or her body while singing? Instrumentalists, such as string players, pianists or guitarists, can observe their sound generation at any particular point in time. However, this is not readily possible for singers, since the crucial movements of the larynx and the diaphragm, as well as the tongue and the velum (soft palate), are hidden inside the body and not visible from outside. In an innovative Video-DVD-ROM the Freiburg Institute of Institute of Musicians' Medicine has utilized modern, high-end visualization procedures from the field of medicine to gain insights into the processes in the human body during singing and speaking. First of all, the anatomical structures are precisely explained in the films so that even medical non-experts can identify and understand the functional interactions taking place. The processes made visible in the films are explained in spoken commentaries. The approx. 100 film clips incorporate active recordings of the lungs and the diaphragm, the larynx and the vocal tract during various song styles (classical/pop/yodeling/overtone singing) and in different vocal ranges (soprano, alto, tenor, bass), as well as during speaking (laughing/crying). These films provide unique insights into the physiology of the creation and forming of sounds, as well as the breathing support process. These materials can help the learner better understand and improve his or her singing abilities. This is the case for ambitious laypersons as well as for professionals artistically active in various genres. In addition, they enable the singing instructor to more clearly and concisely illustrate these complex processes to students. This DVD-ROM will be a great benefit for all singers!

What would happen if we took CLA off the board and put him in the box? In this video, Rich shows how to create realistic harmony vocals in Melodyne when only a lead vocal is present. He advises on the early steps of using Melodyne to capture the key and chord information and create key and chord tracks, which makes creating quality harmonies even easier and more musical. He then illustrates the ease of copying and pasting notes, as well as using the various backgrounds to make it easy to experiment with harmonies. Next Rich uses the various editing tools such as the Modulation, Amplitude, Formant, Timing, Attack Speed, and Time Handle tools to add texture and character to the newly created background vocals. Finally, he demonstrates the processing flexibility of duplicating tracks first and creating separate harmonies in there using Invert Note Selection. Kanye West's music orbits around the power and flexibility of the human voice. Special thanks to Martin Connor. More of his hip hop analysis can be found here: 🤍 A crisp and clear vocal performance is a vital component of all genres of popular music. So when Kanye West recorded his debut single, "Through the Wire," with his jaw completely wired shut after a car accident, he was taking a huge risk. When you listen to "Through the Wire," you immediately hear that Kanye "chipmunk soul" in his pitched-up sample of Chaka Khan's "Through the Fire." But you also hear Kanye riff: Yo, Gee, they can’t stop me from rapping, can they? Can they, Hop? His voice is muffled and lispy. It's not clear at all. But that vocal performance illustrates something unique about his work as a producer and artist: His greatest instrument has always been the human voice. Here's a Spotify playlist for some select Kanye West tracks. 🤍 Subscribe to our channel! 🤍 Vox.com is a news website that helps you cut through the noise and understand what's really driving the events in the headlines. This video is an in-depth look at post-production EQ for dialogue. This could be for a podcast, voice over or YouTube video where you want the audio to sound professional. I will be breaking down the frequency spectrum into 6 zones to keep the video focused. These zones should be used as a guide only and will have to be adjusted to your dialogue or voice. I would never suggest copying exactly what I do and I hope you use your ears to guide your final EQ choices. These techniques work with condenser and dynamic microphones and with all room sizes. ►Timestamps 0:00 - Intro 1:10 - 0Hz to 50Hz 2:10 - 50Hz to 200Hz 6:40 - 200Hz to 600Hz 9:00 - 600Hz to 4kHz 10:00 - 4kHz - 8kHz 12:00 - 8kHz+ Room modes calculator: 🤍 Edit: The bandwidth control on the analog style EQ does not actually affect the low boost I was doing. I set it before listening so I wasn’t really aware.
